How to watch

We have changed the "engine" which runs our video streams. This should make for a better viewing experience. Just follow the on-screen prompts to install a "plug-in" for your browser, agreeing to download/install and you should be ready to watch in less than a minute. For now, only Windows XP and Vista are supported.

Jim began working with Crystal Clear Sports in December of 2006 as an analyst and play-by-play announcer for the Schwan Cup. In March of 2007, Nelson worked the Girl's State Basketball Tournament for Crystal Clear.

Most recently, he served as the lead play-by-play voice for the St. Cloud Riverbats of the Northwoods League. The NWL is a college-level summer baseball league with teams in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan and Ontario, Canada.

Jim has been broadcasting athletics since he was just a freshman at Irondale High School. It was with the IHS TV Production department, in conjunction with CTV Channel 15, that he began calling basketball games. He has been a part of some big games, including the battle between district rivals Irondale and Mounds View for the Section championship in 2002.

Once in college, Nelson was quick to get back into broadcasting with the campus station, KSSU-TV. At KSSU, he has been covering Men’s and Women’s basketball for three seasons as a sideline reporter and play-by-play announcer. He has also worked as an Anchor/Reporter for the award-winning KSSU Newscenter.

When he's not telling sports stories, he's a part of them. That's because Jim is an offensive lineman for the SMSU Mustang football team, where he's getting set for his senior season next fall.
